Gulf Coast Ports — FAQ

Can I visit a plantation before a cruise from New Orleans?

Yes. Oak Alley, Laura and other River Road plantations are within about an hour of the city, and guided trips usually take a half day, which suits the day before embarkation.

Should I stay in Galveston or Houston before my cruise?

Staying on Galveston Island puts you close to the terminal and the historic Strand district. Houston has more flights and hotels but adds about an hour of driving on sailing day.
